What we provide

Documentation on request, stated honestly.

Spec sheets for every product are self-serve and printable today. Everything else below is furnished per project by our team. Send us the scope and we assemble it for your specific products and assembly, rather than posting generic files that will not match your job.

Self-serve today

Printable spec sheets

One print-ready page per product with the full technical table: face weight, pile height, yarn, backing, tuft bind, drainage, safety results. Browse all products →

Per project

Submittal packets & SDS/TDS

Submittal packets, safety data sheets, and technical data sheets assembled for the products on your job. Request them with your project scope and we turn them around with the quote.

Per project

CAD details & cross-sections

Typical sections for base build-up, edge conditions, seams, and drainage, furnished per project so the detail matches your assembly, not a generic download that contradicts your base design.

CSI-style guidance

How to spec turf, criterion by criterion.

The seven properties a turf specification should pin down, and the honest version of what each one means. Full background in our spec sheet guide.

Face weight

Ounces of fiber per square yard, the best single proxy for density and cost. Spec a minimum, not an exact number, so equivalent products can bid: 70–80 oz for light-duty and short-pile performance areas, 80–100 oz for general landscape, 100+ oz for heavy-traffic or showcase areas. Distinguish face weight from total weight in the spec; some sheets quote total (fiber plus backing) to look heavier.

Pile height

Blade length in inches. 1.5–2 in reads as a maintained lawn; under 1.4 in is performance and putting territory; 2.5 in is lush showcase that shows traffic patterns sooner. For playgrounds and sports, shorter and denser outperforms taller and plusher, so spec a range, and let use drive it rather than appearance alone.

Yarn type

Polyethylene is the standard for anything skin contacts: soft, UV-stable, resilient. Blade geometry (C, W, diamond, monofilament) determines recovery under traffic more than marketing names do. Require the yarn polymer and denier/dtex to be stated, and require PFAS-free and lead test results in print. If a manufacturer will not put material safety on the data sheet, that is the answer too.

Backing

Polyurethane-coated backing is the durable standard and holds tuft bind best over time; latex is the budget option that ages worse in wet-dry cycling. Where drainage governs (pet areas, splash zones, storm-heavy climates), spec a high-flow backing (our FlowThru™ products test at 1,000+ in/hr). The backing is where cheap turf actually fails; do not let it go unspecified.

Infill

Specify infill type and rate (lbs/sqft) as part of the system, not an afterthought: it ballasts the turf, protects the backing, and keeps blades upright. Silica sand is the landscape default; coated or organic infills serve pet and cooling requirements; playground assemblies take what the tested system requires. Every product sheet we publish states the recommended rate.

Tuft bind

The force (lbf) needed to pull a tuft out of the backing. It predicts long-term shedding and edge failure, and most spec sheets omit it. Anything above 8 lbf is solid for landscape; spec 10+ for pet areas and high-abuse zones. We publish measured values where tested rather than printing an optimistic default across the catalog.

Permeability

Vertical drainage in in/hr. Above 40 in/hr handles any climate’s rainfall with a properly draining base; pet areas and puddling-sensitive sites benefit from far higher. The turf is rarely the drainage bottleneck (the base design is), so spec both: a minimum permeability for the turf and a compacted, free-draining aggregate section beneath it.

Playground specs

IPEMA, ASTM & ADA: the two-layer truth.

Turf alone is a surface, not a safety system. Under climbing equipment, impact attenuation comes from an engineered padding underlayment beneath the turf, specified to your equipment’s critical fall height and tested to ASTM F1292, with IPEMA certification of the assembly where the project requires it. Require test documentation for the actual system being installed, not brochure adjectives. Turf’s quiet ADA advantage: properly installed, it provides the firm, stable surface wheelchair access requires, something loose-fill mulch scatters out of compliance within a season. We quote playground systems complete (turf, padding, and the documentation), and our playground safety standards guide covers the full checklist, and the Journal’s specifying artificial turf article walks the whole submittal.

Pricing

Volume pricing that starts early

Discounts begin at 500 or 1,000 sqft depending on the product, and most commercial jobs qualify from the first phase. One landed number, turf and freight together, before you commit.

Logistics

Phased delivery & dye-lot planning

Multi-phase projects get delivery scheduled per phase and dye-lot planning across phases, so year-three sections match year-one instead of striping the site.

FAQ

Spec writer questions, straight answers.

Can you provide submittal packets and CAD details?

Yes: submittal packets, SDS/TDS documentation, and CAD details or cross-sections are furnished per project by our team. They are not self-serve downloads yet; call or email with your project scope and we assemble the packet for your specific products and assembly. Printable spec sheets for every product are available right now on our spec sheets page.

Do your products meet playground safety standards?

Turf alone is a surface, not a safety system. Under climbing equipment, impact attenuation comes from an engineered padding underlayment specified to the critical fall height, tested to ASTM F1292 (and, where the project requires it, IPEMA-certified as a system). We quote the full assembly and provide test documentation for the actual system being installed, not brochure claims. Properly installed turf also provides the firm, stable surface ADA accessibility requires.

Do you offer volume pricing for commercial projects?

Yes. Volume discounts start at 500 or 1,000 square feet depending on the product, and commercial projects get a dedicated rep, phased delivery with dye-lot planning across phases, and freight quoted to the job site or to one of 50+ freight hubs nationwide.

Can I get samples for a spec board?

Yes, physical samples of any product ship free anywhere in the country. Order them from our free samples page, and tell us they are for a spec board if you need multiple products or larger cuts.

Send us the scope, we build the packet.

Call, email, or send the project details and we’ll assemble the submittals, samples, and pricing your spec needs, usually with the first quote.
