Market opportunity

A booming market, by the numbers.

The artificial turf industry is growing at nearly 10% a year, pushed by water costs, rebate programs, and homeowners done with mowing. Position yourself at the center of it.

The Dealer Program

Know your customer. Own your margins.

As an EGD dealer, you purchase premium artificial turf at wholesale and sell at your own markup. No franchise fees, no revenue sharing: clean margins on every project, and you control the relationship, the pricing, and the profit.

Three revenue lanes

Material is only the first lane.

Lane 1 · Material margin

The spread on every roll

Dealer-tier pricing is built for resale, with your margin engineered into every product in the line. Sell material only and this is your whole business, a real one, and it improves as your volume grows.

Lane 2 · Install labor

The bigger half of the job

Most of what a customer spends on a finished lawn is prep and labor. If you install (or sub it out and manage it), that becomes a second margin lane on the same job, often larger than the material lane.

Lane 3 · Maintenance & repeat

The lawn keeps paying

Infill top-ups, cleanings, pet-system refreshes, seam repairs, plus the three neighbors who ask who did the yard. Turf customers are visible customers, and the referral loop is the cheapest marketing you’ll ever run.

No-Inventory Option

Start with zero rolls on your floor.

The traditional dealer model starts with a warehouse lease and a container of turf you hope to sell. Ours doesn’t have to.

We hold the stock

Our warehouses, your catalog

Inventory sits at our warehouses, not yours. Every product you sell is a roll on a rack in our network. If we quote it, we stock it.

Sell from samples

Your showroom fits in a box

You sell from a sample kit: the same swatches your customer will touch and compare. No showroom build-out, no dead stock in colors nobody ordered.

Ship per-job

Cut to order, shipped to the job

When you sell, we cut the order from 15-foot rolls, wrap and palletize it, and ship per-job. Hub pickup at 50+ freight service centers, or door delivery to the job site.

No lease required

Grow into a warehouse, or don’t

Some dealers eventually add racks and stock fast-movers locally. Some never do. A warehouse lease is a choice you earn your way into, not the price of entry.

Dealer FAQ

The questions dealers actually ask.

Is there a minimum order to become a dealer?

No big buy-in. You start from a sample kit, not a container; plenty of dealers stock 3-5 rolls once the first jobs land. Dealer pricing is tiered by volume, so your margins improve as you grow, but there’s no upfront inventory purchase required to get started.

What does a dealer actually earn per roll?

Most dealers mark material up $0.50-$1.50+ per square foot over wholesale, which works out to $750-$2,250+ gross profit on a standard 15′ × 100′ roll, before install labor and accessory sales. You set the price; the calculator above shows how the volume math plays out.

Do I get territory exclusivity?

Honest answer: it depends on the market, and we discuss it case by case. In some markets exclusivity makes sense for both of us; in others it doesn’t. We won’t promise you a blanket territory on a website, but we also won’t stack dealers on top of each other and let you find out later.

Who handles freight claims if turf arrives damaged?

We do. Your job is to count the rolls, look over the wrap, and note anything off on the delivery receipt before signing. From there, we file the claim with the carrier and see it through. Neither you nor your customer should ever have to fight a freight company.

How long does training take?

EGD University is self-paced: 33 modules with videos and quizzes covering products, quoting, freight, and installation fundamentals. Most dealers complete the core track in about a week working evenings, and you keep access permanently for reference and for training your own staff.

Do I need a warehouse to start?

No. Under the no-inventory model, we hold the stock at our warehouses and ship per-job: hub pickup or door delivery. You sell from samples. Plenty of dealers add a small storage unit or a rack later, once volume justifies it, but a lease is not the price of entry.

Can I offer installation too, or is this sales-only?

Both fit. Plenty of dealers sell material only and refer installs; plenty install (or manage subs) and keep that side of the job too. If you do install, the contractor program stacks with the dealer relationship, and installation inquiries from our national advertising route to partners by territory.

Can I private label or custom brand EGD products?

Yes, for the right fit. Established partners can collaborate with our product team on a build of their own (pile height, face weight, blade geometry, color blend) and grow a named line on our mills, QC, and freight network. See the R&D collaboration section below, then tell us what your market is missing.

Sound familiar?

Every objection, already handled.

Problem

Customers ask for turf but you don’t carry it, and sourcing a whole new product line feels like a big commitment.

Solution

EGD provides the display and samples so customers can see and feel the product in your store. No stock required.

Problem

Fulfillment and delivery are too complex to manage on top of your existing operations.

Solution

EGD handles cutting, rolling, and delivering every order: to your store for pickup or straight to the customer. You never touch the product.

Problem

Bulky landscape materials eat floor and warehouse space for low margin.

Solution

Earn $0.20-$0.75+/sqft on every sale with zero carrying cost. High margin, no racks of risk.

Why carry turf

One customer, several sales.

Your customers are already asking for turf, and when a garden center doesn’t carry it, that customer buys it somewhere else. Every project that starts at your display pulls more than rolls through the register.

Turf by the roll or cut to length

Lawns, pets, play, and putting, sold by the square foot from a lineup your customers can touch.

Installation accessories

Infill, seam tape, staples, weed barrier, and edging ride along on every project ticket.

The aisles you already stock

Base material, pavers, border stone, plants, and finishing: a turf project pulls your whole store through the register.

Installation referrals

Customers who want it installed go to our contractor network and keep shopping with you.

The Program

On the floor

Displays & hand samples

In-store and yard displays with labeled samples and co-branded signage, so customers buy turf they can feel.

At the counter

Quotes in minutes

Our online estimation tools turn a counter conversation into a written materials estimate on the spot, no site visit.

After the sale

Installer referrals

Shoppers who want professional installation get routed to vetted crews, and the material sale stays at your store.

Getting Started

Selling turf in weeks, not seasons.

Our team handles the setup with you. Hover or tap each step; none of them is a commitment until you say so.

  1. Step 01

    Intro call & store review

A short conversation about your floor space, your customers, and your current landscape assortment. No obligation, no forms-first funnel.

Retailers ask

Store questions, straight answers.

We don’t have room to stock big rolls. Does that rule us out?

Not at all. Most retail partners start with no rolls on the floor. You sell from the display and samples, and orders ship from the nearest EGD hub. Stocking a few fast-movers later is an option, never a requirement.

Do we need to know how to install turf?

No. Your team gets product and measuring training through EGD University, and customers who want professional installation are referred to vetted crews from our contractor network, while the material sale stays with your store.

Is there a big buy-in to join?

The program starts with a display and samples, not a container of inventory. What your launch looks like depends on your store and market, and that is a short conversation, not a price list.

What does my store actually earn?

Retail partners typically earn $0.20-$0.75+ per square foot on every sale, plus roughly 8% in accessory upsell, with zero carrying cost. Run the calculator above with your expected volume, then call and we will tune the numbers to your market.

The Hybrid Model

A turf aisle in your store, a warehouse in ours.

This is what the program looks like on the ground at a real partner’s landscape yard: a display and samples in the store, our inventory and freight behind it. Sell from the rack, and we cut, wrap, and ship each order: to your store for customer pickup or straight to their job. Stock your fast-movers later if the volume earns it; plenty of partners never need to.
