Warranty

Sixteen years, decoded honestly.

Most turf warranties are written to be waved, not read. Here’s ours explained the way we train our own team to explain it, including what it doesn’t cover.

Years 1–8

Manufacturer’s warranty

UV stability, fiber strength, and manufacturing defects: defective product replaced free after return. Covers the replacement product itself (not removal, disposal, or re-installation labor).

Years 9–16

EGD extended warranty

Eight additional years covering manufacturing defects, UV degradation, and excessive fading, prorated: strongest at the start of the extension and decreasing over time.

What’s covered.

  • UV degradation: fiber breakdown from sun beyond normal expectations.
  • Manufacturing defects: fiber quality, backing integrity, construction.
  • Excessive fading: color loss beyond what’s normal for the product’s age.
  • Fiber strength failure: blades breaking or splitting from material quality.
  • Backing failure: delamination caused by manufacturing quality.

What’s not, said plainly.

This is the section most sites hide, and it’s where trust is won or lost. The warranty does not cover:

  • Physical damage: burns, cuts, vandalism, neglect, non-turf-rated cleats, heavy equipment without protection, or using a residential product for sports-field duty.
  • Installation issues: inadequate base compaction, installer errors, and unauthorized repairs. Workmanship is between you and your installer (theirs to warranty), which is why base prep matters so much.
  • Chemical damage: bleach and caustic cleaners (pH above 9), strong acids (pH below 5), herbicides/pesticides, or non-standard infill.
  • Normal aging: expected wear, gradual color shift, slight dye-lot variation, texture change over time.
  • The odd ones worth knowing: window-reflection melt (energy-efficient windows can focus sunlight; screen or film the offending window), sprinkler mineral deposits, and acts of God.

Keeping it valid.

Four habits: maintain per the care guide, install to spec (base, infill type and quantity), report problems within 7 days of discovery (shipping damage: within 7 days of arrival), and get written consent before any repair.

How a claim works.

Written claim to sales@evergreengrassdepot.com with the sales receipt, install date and installer, batch/lot number if available, a sample of turf and infill, and at least five clear photos. We arrange inspection, complete testing within a 30-day window, and resolve accepted claims through repair, replacement product, or refund of the defective material’s cost.

How it compares.

Budget imports typically carry 5–8 years from manufacturers you’d struggle to find twice. Premium brands run 15–25. Ours is 16 with a named company behind both halves, and the only version that matters is the written one, which is why the full current warranty document ships with every quote. Read it before you buy; we mean that.

This page is an educational summary. Actual coverage, durations, and conditions are governed by the warranty documentation provided at time of purchase, which may change. Always refer to the current document included with your quote.
