Two blades, one illusion.
Real grass is irregular: stiff blades next to bent ones, dark next to light. Legacy 92 manufactures that irregularity by tufting two different fiber geometries side by side. The W blades stand rigid and matte; the C blades flex and carry a soft highlight. Mix them across field and apple green with tan accent yarns woven through, and no two blades catch the light the same way, which is precisely how a living lawn behaves and exactly what single-shape turf cannot fake.
Legacy 92 does this at 1.65 in., the tidiest height in the Legacy line. That is tall enough for the dual-blade texture to read clearly, short enough that the lawn keeps a groomed, estate-lawn posture without constant brushing. A 65 oz face of 10,000 denier yarn over 4,400 denier thatch keeps the pile closed and the tan accents glinting through rather than dominating.
Realism in a practical height.
Legacy 92 is for the homeowner who wants people to do a double take at the lawn, but who also opens the gate onto it every day. The 1.65 in. pile recovers quickly, tolerates furniture, and is the easiest Legacy to keep looking freshly kept, which makes it a natural fit for courtyards, formal front yards and the landscaping around pools and patios.
The engineering under it is the full Legacy stack: woven PP backing with two polyurethane coats, perforated drainage at 50+ in/hr, 1.5 to 2.0 lbs of infill per square foot, and a 16 year warranty. It handles wet winters and hot summers alike. What it is not is a sports surface or a kennel floor; it earns its place purely on how convincingly it impersonates grass.
Right fit, wrong fit.
Choose Evergreen Legacy 92 for
- Formal front yards and courtyards where a groomed 1.65 in. height suits the architecture
- Buyers who have seen single-blade turf up close and want the varied, two-geometry read instead
- Pool surrounds and patio borders: the shortest Legacy recovers fastest from furniture and feet
- Anyone who wants Legacy realism with the least brushing commitment in the line
Look elsewhere when
- You want depth you can sink into: Legacy 107 runs the same dual-blade recipe at a full 2.00 in.
- The project calls for an Evergreen build: Evergreen 87's C blades deliver natural light play in a simpler single-shape pile
- Dogs are the primary users: EverPet 87's FlowThru backing and claw-resistant D and C blades are built for that job
Rolls, infill, and install notes
Legacy 92 ships on 15 ft. wide rolls up to 100 ft. long, 1,500 square feet apiece; sketch cuts against the 15 ft. width and run every piece the same direction so the dual-blade texture reads consistently. Infill spec is 1.5 to 2.0 lbs per square foot, brushed in over a compacted 3 to 4 in. aggregate base. Take extra care matching grain at seams, because the mixed blade shapes make a reversed panel obvious. The installation guide has the full sequence and the tool checklist the equipment list.
Pairings & the ladder
Inside the Evergreen Legacy line, Evergreen Legacy 92 sits alongside Evergreen Legacy 97, Evergreen Legacy 107, Evergreen Legacy 111, Evergreen Legacy 127. The climb is weight and density: more ounces per square yard means more blade per inch underfoot. Heavy pet traffic in part of the yard? Many customers split the space and run EverPet 87 (FlowThru) with its 1,000+ in/hr FlowThru backing in the dog zone.
Evergreen Legacy 92 FAQ
Asked about this product.
How do the tan accents read at normal distance?
Like a healthy lawn, not a dying one. The tan yarns sit low among the field and apple green blades and read as the natural straw tones every real lawn carries at its base. From the street you see a rich green; crouch down and you see the varied floor that makes it convincing. There is no patchy or browned-out effect.
Why combine W and C blades in one pile?
Because neither is better at realism alone. W blades give structure and a matte face; C blades flex and carry a leaf-like highlight. A field of identical fibers looks manufactured no matter how good the fiber is. Alternating the two breaks up the repetition in both texture and reflection, which is the specific trick that makes Legacy 92 hard to identify as turf.
Is 1.65 in. too short to look lush?
No; lushness at this height comes from the 65 oz face density rather than blade length, and the pile is full enough to close completely over the thatch. What the shorter height changes is posture: Legacy 92 holds a trimmed, formal look with less brushing than the 2.00 in. Legacies. If you want visible depth and sway, that is Legacy 107's territory.
