A fast green, a true roll.
EverPutt 65 is cut for speed. The PP D-shaped blades stand just 0.50 in. tall and are tufted on a tight 3/16 in. gauge with no thatch layer, so there is nothing between the ball and a clean line. The D profile presents a flat face to the ball, and once the pile is dressed with sand the surface plays smooth and quick, with the kind of consistency that lets you actually groove a stroke.
Field and lime green give it the clipped, two-tone look of a maintained green, and the woven PP backing with two polyurethane coats keeps the short pile locked down for years of ball strikes. Perforations drain 50 or more inches of water per hour outdoors, and the low profile makes it just as happy inside, where a garage or office floor becomes a practice green without a base dig.
Practice that fits the space you have.
Most putting practice does not happen on a course; it happens in the ten minutes you can steal at home. EverPutt 65 is built around that reality. It is the compact, straightforward green: easier to install than a deep-pile surface, quick to dress with sand, and immediately playable for putting and short chips.
It suits backyard corners, side yards and indoor rooms where a full tunable green would be more project than the space justifies. If you later decide you want a deeper profile with speed you can dial from relaxed to tournament pace, that is EverPutt 81; this one is for golfers who want a fast, honest roll with the least fuss.
Right fit, wrong fit.
Choose EverPutt 65 for
- Backyard putting and chipping greens in compact spaces
- Indoor practice greens in garages, offices and game rooms
- Golfers who want a fast surface that plays consistently day to day
- First-time green builders who want the simplest install in the putting line
Look elsewhere when
- You want to tune green speed with infill depth and a premium bent-grass look: EverPutt 81 and its 0.75 in. pile are built for exactly that
- The area is a lawn or play space rather than a green: Evergreen 77 covers everyday yards far better than a putting surface can
- Kids and pets will use the space more than golfers: EverPlay 70 gives them a stable 1.50 in. play pile instead
Rolls, infill, and install notes
A green is only as true as its base, so EverPutt 65 rewards extra time below the turf: compact the base in lifts, screed it dead smooth, and roll it before the turf goes down, because every ripple you leave will show up in the ball roll. Rolls are 15 ft. wide, which lets most backyard greens install seam-free; where a seam is unavoidable, keep it out of the main putting lines. Dress the surface with 2 to 3 lbs of #30 sand per square foot, brushed in thin layers and rolled between passes until the speed settles where you like it. The installation guide covers the sequence and the tool checklist has the short list of green-specific tools.
Pairings & the ladder
Inside the EverPutt line, EverPutt 65 sits alongside EverPutt 81. The climb is weight and density: more ounces per square yard means more blade per inch underfoot. Heavy pet traffic in part of the yard? Many customers split the space and run EverPet 87 (FlowThru) with its 1,000+ in/hr FlowThru backing in the dog zone.
EverPutt 65 FAQ
Asked about this product.
How do I control the speed of EverPutt 65?
With sand. The 0.50 in. D-blade pile is dressed with 2 to 3 lbs of #30 sand per square foot, and where you land in that range sets the pace: less sand leaves more exposed blade and a slightly slower roll, a fuller dressing firms and quickens the surface. Add sand gradually and putt between passes.
Does an indoor EverPutt 65 green still need sand?
Yes, and for the same reasons: the sand sets the ball speed, supports the short pile and protects the backing. Indoors you simply skip the weather considerations; the 2 to 3 lbs per square foot dressing still applies.
Can I chip onto EverPutt 65?
Short chips and bump-and-runs, absolutely; the dense 3/16 in. gauge pile takes the landing and releases the ball true. For full wedge shots dropping steeply from distance, a larger green with a deeper, heavier surface like EverPutt 81 holds the ball better.
