Density where it counts.
Evergreen 82 keeps the same 1.50 in. W-blade pile as Evergreen 77 but packs ten percent more yarn into the face: 55 oz against 50, spun from a heavier 10,000 denier fiber over a 4,400 denier thatch. You notice the difference underfoot before you see it. The pile is firmer to press into, closes back over footprints faster, and the thicker fibers take longer to show wear in the paths a dog or a daily routine carves into a yard.
The tone pair shifts too. Olive stays as the anchor shade, but clover green replaces field green, and clover is a touch brighter and cooler. The result is a lawn that reads healthy and well fed rather than dark, which suits yards in full sun. Because the blades are short and the W shape holds them upright, the surface stays matte even at midday.

This is the Evergreen for households where the lawn is used hard every single day: dogs with a yard routine, kids home all summer, a short path everyone takes to the shed. The denser face resists matting in those repeated lanes, and the 1.50 in. height is easy to rinse, brush and pick up after.
It is still a lawn product, not a kennel surface. The woven PP backing with two polyurethane coats drains at 50+ in/hr through perforations, which handles rain and routine rinsing in any climate from desert to coast. A yard with one or two dogs is squarely in its lane; a dedicated run with constant traffic over the same few hundred square feet is a different job, and there is a purpose-built product for it.

What does the extra weight over Evergreen 77 buy me?
Five more ounces of yarn per square yard in the pile itself, spun from a heavier 10,000 denier fiber. In practice that means the pile resists crushing in repeated-traffic lanes, like the path a dog runs along a fence, and recovers faster from furniture and foot traffic. If your lawn is decoration first, 77 is plenty; if it is a floor, choose 82.
How do I clean up after dogs on Evergreen 82?
Solids pick up as they would on real grass. Rinse urine spots with a hose; the perforated backing drains 50+ inches per hour, so water passes straight into the base. A periodic enzyme treatment keeps odors down in warm weather. For multiple dogs using one concentrated area daily, EverPet 87 with its fully permeable backing is the better tool.
Will the clover green tone look too bright?
No. Clover is brighter than field green but it is blended with olive, which pulls the overall read back toward a natural mid-green; it looks like a lawn that gets fertilizer and water on schedule. If you prefer a darker, more muted lawn, Evergreen 77's olive and field pairing is the subtler of the two.
