Evergreen 105 is the heavyweight of the Evergreen line. Long 2.00 in. W-blades in vivid field and apple green fill in so densely that the lawn reads as one continuous sweep of color. Built for moderate to heavy foot traffic, it keeps its posture and its brightness, and it leaves the neighbors wondering how your yard always looks this good.

The heavyweight of the line.

Evergreen 105 takes the deluxe 2.00 in. format of the 102 and builds it heavier everywhere it counts. The face yarn steps up to 10,100 denier, the thickest W-blade fiber in the Evergreen line, so each blade carries more polymer and shrugs off more bending cycles before it creases. Total weight rises to 105 oz per square yard. Underfoot it is firm-springy rather than pillowy: the surface of a lawn with muscle under it.

Visually it is the same vivid field and apple green pairing as the 102, and the density does the work. At this fiber weight the pile reads as one continuous sweep of color from any distance, with the W blades' matte faces keeping glare down even in hard sunlight. The 3,500 denier thatch stays low and curly, locking infill in place rather than competing with the face for attention.

Beauty rated for heavy use.

This is the Evergreen to choose when a showcase lawn also has to earn its keep: moderate to heavy foot traffic, weekend games, dogs sharing the space, the shortcut everyone takes. The heavy-denier fiber is the difference between a lawn that needs its traffic lanes brushed monthly and one that mostly manages itself.

It carries FIFA Quality certification, meaning this construction passed the same independent wear and resilience testing applied to soccer surfaces, and it sits on the standard stack: woven PP backing with two polyurethane coats, perforations draining 50+ in/hr, 16 year warranty. Nothing about the climate envelope changes; from freeze-thaw winters to desert summers, the build is the same one proven across the whole line.

Right fit, wrong fit.

Choose Evergreen 105 for

  • Showcase lawns that take real traffic: games, gatherings, dogs and daily shortcuts
  • Buyers who want the deepest Evergreen with independent FIFA Quality wear testing behind it
  • Large open lawns, where the dense 2.00 in. pile reads as one unbroken field of green
  • Anyone choosing between 102 and 105 who expects the yard to get busier over time

Look elsewhere when

  • The yard is admired more than used: Evergreen 102 gives you the same height and tones with less heft
  • You want grass that fools people at handshake distance: Legacy 111 packs a 111 oz build with a more classic, established read
  • It is really a sports surface: EverSport 105's short non-infill pile gives truer footing and ball response
Rolls, infill, and install notes

Like the rest of the line, Evergreen 105 ships on 15 ft. wide rolls up to 100 ft. long covering 1,500 square feet each; lay out cuts against the 15 ft. width with all grain running one direction. The dense 2.00 in. pile wants its full 1.5 to 2.0 lbs of infill per square foot, spread in multiple passes with power brooming between so it reaches the backing. Prep 3 to 4 in. of compacted aggregate and keep seams out of the main sightline. Full details in the installation guide; gear is listed on the tool checklist.

Pairings & the ladder

Inside the Evergreen line, Evergreen 105 sits alongside Evergreen 77, Evergreen 82, Evergreen 87, Evergreen 102. The climb is weight and density: more ounces per square yard means more blade per inch underfoot. Heavy pet traffic in part of the yard? Many customers split the space and run EverPet 87 (FlowThru) with its 1,000+ in/hr FlowThru backing in the dog zone.

Evergreen 105 FAQ

Asked about this product.

What does 10,100 denier face yarn mean in practice?

Denier measures the weight, and therefore the thickness, of the fiber itself. At 10,100 denier the 105's W blades are the heaviest in the Evergreen line, so each one takes more foot strikes before it fatigues and creases. That is what lets a plush 2.00 in. lawn carry a moderate to heavy traffic rating instead of a look-but-do-not-trample one.

Could I play soccer on Evergreen 105?

The certification means this construction passed FIFA's independent durability and performance testing, which is a strong wear credential for a lawn. But a 2.00 in. infilled landscape pile is not a playing-surface spec. For actual sport use, EverSport 105 is purpose-built with a short 1.10 in. non-infill pile for footing and ball behavior.

How does Evergreen 105 stay glare-free in full sun?

The W blade's ridged, matte profile scatters light instead of focusing it, which keeps glare down, and uprightness comes from the blade geometry plus the infill bed: keep it at the specified 1.5 to 2.0 lbs per square foot and the pile holds its posture through summer. Like all turf it runs warmer than living grass on hot afternoons, and a quick hose-down cools it fast.
