How long does artificial turf actually last?

Answered by Evan Benjamin: straight answers from 31+ years of combined industry experience.

Quality residential turf lasts 15–20 years under normal use. Sports fields run shorter (typically 8–10 years) because traffic intensity, not weather, is what wears turf out. The three factors that decide where your install lands in that range: UV stabilization quality, fiber type, and how well the base was built underneath it.

Our products carry a 16-year combined warranty (8-year manufacturer plus 8-year EGD extended coverage), which tells you where we expect the products to live on that curve. The math worth doing: a $10,000 installation over 16 years is about $625 a year, less than most annual lawn-care contracts, with none of the Saturday mornings.
