Getting turf in Jackson.
Jackson orders stage through Houston to the in-town freight-partner center, with trailer pickup and forklift loading, or door delivery across the metro: Madison, Ridgeland, Clinton, Pearl.
The clay that cracks foundations meets a base built for it.
Jackson sits on Yazoo clay: expansive soil so notorious it shapes local construction law, swelling with every wet spell and shrinking with every dry one, heaving sidewalks and cracking slabs. Lawns ride the same elevator: humps, hollows, and drainage that changes by the season. A spec turf install interrupts the ride (excavation, geotextile separation, and a thick compacted base that buffers the surface from the clay’s mood swings) while the turf above ignores the Mississippi humidity that farms disease through every natural option. Flatter, drier, greener, permanently.

Jackson FAQ
Asked in Jackson.
Can turf really work over Yazoo clay?
With the right base, yes: excavation, separation fabric, and deep compacted stone buffer the surface from the clay’s swell-shrink cycle far better than sod riding directly on it. It’s the same principle as good slab prep, at lawn scale.
Where does Jackson turf arrive from?
Staged at our Houston hub and delivered through the in-town freight-partner center, with trailer pickup or door delivery across the metro.
What about Mississippi’s brutal humidity?
It’s a living-grass problem: disease, thatch rot, relentless mowing through the wet heat. Polyethylene opts out of the biology; an occasional rinse is the whole regimen.
