Getting turf in Ogden.
Ogden draws from EGD’s own Salt Lake City hub, 35 minutes south. Take trailer pickup with your cut order staged in advance, or door delivery quoted across Weber and Davis counties: the East Bench, Riverdale, Roy, North Ogden, and down through Layton.
Ogden’s housing stock changes the order pattern: instead of new-build packages, the book here runs to exact cuts: a 4-foot park strip down a 60-foot frontage, an odd-shaped bench terrace, a narrow side yard between 1920s bungalows. Cut-to-dimension from 15-foot rolls means those projects buy their real footage, measured off your sketch.
The bench’s park strips were never fair fights.
Ogden’s bench neighborhoods are the old Wasatch Front: Jefferson Avenue historic blocks, avenues cut in the 1900s, park strips a few feet wide between sidewalk and street. Those strips were always the worst irrigation deal in the city: sloped, shaded by century-old trees half the day, scorched the other half, and watered mostly onto the pavement. Turf ends the fight strip by strip, with exact-cut pieces sized to the actual geometry, green under the tree shade where grass gave up decades ago, and zero sprinkler heads to trench into old hardpan.
Then there’s the snow. Ogden catches some of the heaviest on the Front, and the bench catches more than the flats. Months of snowpack sit harmlessly on the fiber, melt drains through the backing instead of ponding on frozen sod, and the steep driveways and terraced yards that make shoveling an event at least stop growing a mud season afterward. Older lots mean older grades; our base spec trues them up on the way in.

Ogden FAQ
Asked in Ogden.
How do I clear snow off turf without wrecking it?
Mostly, you don’t have to: walkable areas pack and melt fine, and meltwater drains through instead of icing over dead grass. Where you do clear, push with a plastic-edged shovel or broom and leave the last inch to melt; keep metal blades and ice-melt chemicals for the concrete.
Can you cut turf for a narrow, old park strip?
It’s the classic Ogden order. Strips on the bench run 3 to 5 feet wide with tree wells and driveway breaks, and we cut to that exact geometry from 15-foot rolls off your measurements. Send the sketch; the quote covers your real footage.
Does turf work on Ogden’s sloped bench lots?
Yes. Slopes install with tighter spike spacing along the perimeter and seams, and infill ballast holds the field. Terraced yards often turf the flats and slopes differently; we’ll spec both from a photo.
Where do Ogden orders come from?
EGD’s own Salt Lake City hub, 35 minutes down I-15: staged in-state inventory with trailer pickup, or door delivery quoted to any Weber or Davis county ZIP.
